The coronavirus pandemic sweeping across the world is presenting unprecedented challenges and opportunities for individuals and organizations. The intense pressure on the healthcare system, the high levels of anxiety and stress, and the millions of people who are adjusting to the ‘new normal’ create a situation where leadership and leadership development is of vital importance.

We’re updating our Advanced leadership Programs to focus on combining theory and best practice principles with practical applications and interactive discussions that will enable participants to develop themselves and support others during this pandemic and beyond.

This module-based, online Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) - Summit Series takes a deep dive into cutting edge topics related to the capabilities within the LEADS in a Caring Environment Framework with a focus on practical application. Participants will have an opportunity to expand their leadership knowledge and consider how theory and evidence relate to the context of modern-day health services and health leadership, with an emphasis on how they can apply their learning to their work.

With a series of modules to choose from, each module consists of 3 parts:

  • Part 1: An online journal club, moderated by Dr. Jaason Geerts;
  • Part 2: An interactive webinar hosted by a LEADS Canada facilitator;
  • Part 3: A concise summary sheet of key learnings and reflection questions;
  • An online follow-up session to discuss applying the key learning to the workplace; and
  • The opportunity to connect with a network of health leaders and expert faculty.

This program is meant to provide information, tools, reflection, and discussion around key issues in healthcare leadership (for positional or non-positional leaders), as well as networking opportunities through the follow-up webinars. It is intended for emerging or mid-level leaders who have done a LEADS Learning Series (either through your organization or through a public offering) and are looking to:

  • Expand your leadership knowledge.
  • Learn practical tools for applying leadership to the workplace setting.
  • Discuss current issues, challenges, and opportunities in healthcare leadership.
  • Connect with a network of healthcare leaders.
  • Earn up to 5 CCHL MOC 1 credits towards their maintenance of certification per module.

This program is flexible and is available to individuals as well as organizations. Whether you purchase a single or multiple modules, we are happy to offer discount package rates to CCHL members as well for organizations with 10 or more participants.

Are you challenged by time?

If you are unable to commit to all 3 parts of a module and still want to expand your leadership knowledge through learning about new leadership skill and tools, you can take advantage of our single webinar option. This option consists of participation and attendance in the main webinar only for an individual module.

In order to capture how theory and evidence relate to the context of modern-day health services and health leadership, we do highly encourage you to participate in the full module parts and components.
